“Working in partnership to influence and transform health and social care”
The Voluntary and Community Sector Alliance (VCSA) covers Bradford District and Craven, and has been developed by the local Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) to become an equal partner in the Integrated Care System, alongside with other key local health, social care and support providers.
To deliver this, providers in health, social care and support services have come together to form the Bradford Provider Alliance (BPA) and the Airedale Providers Alliance Group (APAG). The VCSA manages VCS Representation on different Partnership Groups associated with Health and Social Care, and co-ordinates the local Voluntary and Community Sector to deliver different Health and Social Care projects across the Bradford District and Craven.

Harnessing the Power of Communities Participatory Grant Awards
The VCS Alliance, with support from both our infrastructure and system partners and of course the participation of our VCSE delivery provider partners, ran a very successful Participatory Grant Making event.
39 provider partners from across the Bradford District and Craven engaged in the PGM process with 31 organisations pitching for an award on the day. In the first section of the awards 22 participating
organisations were funded, with a further 2 being funded through the Gift Back process. This is where
organisations are asked to revisit their declared budget and see if there is room to donate back to the
central funding pot, just over £10k was gifted back.
Awards totalling £106k was distributed to grass-roots groups supporting the most vulnerable members of our communities around the wider social determinants of health and the impact these have.
The original funding pot of £62k from the West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership was bolstered by the support of our wider system partners at the Reducing Inequalities Alliance, and The Yorkshire Sport Foundation meaning that more support will be available to those most in need.
A huge thank you to all our colleagues across the VCSE sector and our wider system partners who helped make the day such a huge success.
A full list of those groups supported through the PGM event will be accessible on the website very soon.
