What is Grant Funding?
Grant funding are awards The VCS Alliance distributes on behalf of our commissioning and contracting partners. They differ from contracting and commissioning in that they are intended to give grass-roots and smaller community organisations access to light touch grant awards.
Light Touch in this sense means that the required application, delivery and reporting is less demanding that our contracting and commissioning opportunities.
Grant funding awards will always have a smaller value than our contracting and commissioning opportunities and tend to award applicants between £500 and £2000.
Delivery time for these grants tends to be between 1 and 6 months, occasionally longer.
The aim of these grants is to:
- Deliver work and interventions to fill gaps in current support that our commissioning partners have identified.
- To enable the smaller grass-roots community organisations to further develop their track record of delivering good works in and around their communities.
- To strengthen the diversity of voluntary and community groups across the Bradford and Craven districts.
- To build capacity and resilience across the voluntary and community sector whilst supporting our communities.
The organisations that tend to apply for these grant opportunities are invaluable to the voluntary and community sector in Bradford and Craven districts, and though smaller in nature pack a big punch.
